Food in the Time of Quarantine – July 2020

Food in the Time of Quarantine – July 2020

Welcome to the third issue of Food in the Time of Quarantine. From this issue on we will be shifting our focus from pantry recipes to low cost dishes. In here you will find meals and snacks. You can even try your hand at making cheese with Azlin Bloor’s dead simple three ingredient paneer. You can bake along with one of our new contributing editors, Sasmita Sahoo Samanta and our returning editor Angela Amberden. We are thrilled to be welcoming this month’s new contributing editors: Lisa Watson, Sasmita Sahoo, Maria Nasir, Helen Chin, Pavani Gunikuntla, Swati Malik and Jayashree Trao as well as welcoming back our unbelievably amazing returning contributing editors.

This month we are fully embracing budget recipes. We know many people are safe to return to the outdoors, but we also know that the economy is still struggling and we could all use a little piece of mind when feeding our families. We hope our magazine can help!

This issue is divided into: the bread corner; snacks/appetizers/light meals; meals; sweets. You may notice a little filler in the form of gardening tips (to get the most out of your edible gardens, for those of you who have chosen to garden) and short recipes with no photo. Our hope is that these will help the magazine flow better. We would love to hear feedback on the subject.

As always, we are continuing the fight for equality, however we can. We stand in solidarity with all persons of color and we are hoping and praying for equality and a much more fair distribution of resources.
