Food in the Time of Quarantine

Food in the Time of Quarantine

Joyous Kitchen is very pleased to be bringing you the second issue of their magazine, Food in the Time of Quarantine. And they are delighted that so many places seem to be moving toward safe reopening and that their readers may not need as many pantry recipes. With the state of the economy they thought the best way to help people would be to start compiling cost effective recipes. After this month’s issue they will be shifting the main focus to cheap eats.

In this issue you may notice some new things, such as our Bread Corner feature, which they hope will become a regular feature. They are welcoming four new contributing editors: Angela Amberden, Jodi Kaplan, Mayuri Patel and Giangi Townsend. The focus of Jodi’s blog is meals for one, so she will be leading a Recipes for One recurring feature.

They are all devastated by the loss of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and tragically so many others. They stand with persons of color for equality and justice. The editors of this magazine are a multicultural group and they hope they are able to lead by example by modeling tolerance and sisterhood.
