Palantine and Co. is an unusual company. But it seems attractive enough to out of work Gary Bellamy, with decent pay and a good benefits package. But things start to get a little strange. The CEO is perpetually out of town, apparently in search of ‘Enlightenment’. His co-workers are involved in research and investigations that appear to involve Bigfoot, ghosts, walk-ins among other supernatural occurrences. But again, the pay is good as are the benefits.

The employees of Palantine and Co. are hoping their new hire is exactly what they need. Strange occurrences are on the rise, a seven year old girl has gone missing in northern Michigan, and they are sure it involves something that happened to the real Gary when he was a boy thirty years ago, not to mention that the same dead man had been seen on a Lake Erie beach for several decades. If only two of their co-workers hadn’t been kidnapped in Mali. Or that their boss, Ephram Palantine is spending an inordinate amount of time out of touch.

Ephram is having problems of his own. His search for Enlightenment hasn’t been going well, has lead down some rather bizarre rabbit holes, and its about to get a lot worse.
