Over 100 Free Ebooks & Short Stories by Robert E. Howard

Robert Ervin Howard was an American author who wrote pulp fiction in a diverse range of genres. He is well known for his character Conan the Barbarian and is regarded as the father of the sword and sorcery subgenre. A bookish and intellectual child, he was also a fan of boxing and spent some time in his late teens bodybuilding, eventually taking up amateur boxing. – Wikipedia

Howard’s impressive list of work is tremendous, ranging from essays, novels, poetry to short stories from wide variety of genres. He indulged in detective, boxing, horror, humor, history and many other areas, which believed to be heavily influenced by the oil boom in Texas where he grew up. H. P Lovecraft also played a great role in his work.

Sadly, Howard’s life was cut short in 1936. Dejected over the news that his mother would never emerge from a coma, he committed suicide. Howard’s death sent shockwaves of grief through the fiction community. Some of Howard’s best-known characters – Solomon Kane, Bran Mak Morn, and sailor Steve Costigan among them, will continue to stir our imagination through a lifetime.
